Lake Balaton panorama
If you are interested, we can put together individual holiday packages.
Keszthely and its surroundings
Lake Balaton is beautiful in every season! In the spring and autumn, let's prepare by collecting the kilometers by car, bicycle and, of course, on foot. In this case, we can expect cooler and warmer weather.
We don’t have to give up lakeside programs right away. Everything is available for water, forest and city tours.
Cruise in the Keszthely Bay:
If you still feel cold swimming in Lake Balaton, hop on a boat and take a ride around Keszthely Bay. You can start from the Pier with several public boats, or you can rent smaller and larger yachts, in which the Kiss-Henézi Guest House team will help you.
Lake Hévíz:
If Lake Balaton is still cold, we can find the city of Hévíz on a jump, where the pleasant thermal water warms up even when it is foggy outside. In the delicate warm water, among the beautiful water lilies, we can be sure that our body and soul will be recharged.
Lake Hévíz is a unique natural formation, in which dissolved minerals and other medicinal substances burst to the surface.
The Lake Bath is biologically active, which means that it is made up of all living organisms. The healing lake, already popular with the Romans, was created in a natural way.
Hévíz Producers Market:
Close to Lake Hévíz we can find the Hévíz Producers Market, which is open from 7 am on Saturdays. The market is located in the area behind the Large Parking Lot. Here a number of local and local producers are waiting with better handicrafts and drinks.
Ruin Garden and Hévíz Museum:
In addition to the lake, the Romans left behind traces of Hévíz several times, which can be found in the Egregyi district. There you can admire the Roman ruin garden and the Hévíz Museum.
Church of St. Magdalene in the Árpádian period:
Going up to Egregy Wine Hill, we find the tomb of the Roman soldier. At the end of the street rises the church of St. Magdalene from the Árpádian period, with a romantic view of the Cserszegtomaj and Rezi hills.
Kis-Balaton:
Beautiful in all seasons. Excellent excursion program, cycling tour location. Protected natural area! We can recall István Fekete's novel Tüskevár, admire the wildlife and the wonderful nature.
Keszthely Mountains:
The westernmost member of the Transdanubian Mountains is the Keszthely Mountains. Its surface is varied by stone columns, sinkholes, ravines and gorge valleys.
We can see many beautiful natural phenomena, such as basalt plateaus, polygonal basalt columns, walls higher than 10 m, small ponds and caves in the belly of the mountains.
Large field:
It is a beautiful meadow in the middle of the forest, which is crossed by many routes, so you can almost always meet hikers, skewers, dogs or even cross-country runners there.
Festetics Imre Animal Park:
The zoo is home to mostly backyard animals, but there are also buffaloes and deer. If we look only from the outside, we can still see the inhabitants of the zoo: gray cattle, wild boars, mangalicas and horses.
Festetics Lookout:
It is free to visit at any time of the year. We have a stunning panorama of Lake Balaton, Keszthely and the surrounding countryside, as well as the wonderful forests.
Gyenesdiás:
By bike you will find a few kilometers from our guest house. Very pleasant bike ride on a built bike path. Along the way, the lakeside trees provide shade, the reeds rustle, the birds chirp and we’re already there. We can eat sensational ice cream at Bringatanya. Behind the ice cream parlor, there are also divine flaming, pancake-making, brandy-like places in the small craft market. In the immediate vicinity is the Gyenesi Beach, which is a favorite with families with small children.
St. Michael's Hill and St. Michael's Chapel:
With an altitude of 136 meters above sea level, it offers a very magnificent panorama. It’s a bit “toning” the way up, but it’s worth climbing the steep serpentine.
In the 13th century there was a small castle on it, which was unfortunately completely destroyed. The Chapel of St. Michael, which, according to legend, was erected in the 1700s by 40 local fishermen, who thus remembered that they had survived the greatest storm on Lake Balaton at that time.
We should bring some patties and champagne and spend the sunset there.
Vonyarcvashegy:
It has a great beach and, due to its small permanent population, lives mainly on tourism and hospitality.
Balatongyörök Lookout Tower:
This is the most beautiful viewpoint on Lake Balaton, so we don't have to climb a mountain - only if we cycle there, there is a more cardio-like ascent…. We must add that an unparalleled sight awaits us at the Szigliget Castle, at the Kisfaludy lookout tower at the top of Badacsony and at Tihany.
Africa Museum and Safari Park:
“One of the specialties of the Keszthely district is the Museum of Africa in Balatonederics. Can the question rightly arise for you, what do the African savannas very far from Lake Balaton have to do with Balatonederics ?! Zoologist Endre Nagy moved back to his homeland from Africa in 1984, especially to this village.
Its collection and stories, which form the basis of the museum, can also be viewed as hunting trophies and stuffed animals. However, probably the most exciting for everyone will be the African Safari Park next to the museum, where you can visit camels, zebras and ostriches, among others. ”
Tapolca Spring Cave:
It was discovered in 1903 and opened ten years later, making it the first cave to be electrically lit and used for tourism.
Boating under a cozy little town. 3D cinema, "Amazing Karst" exhibition with climbing wall. An excellent program for families!
Badacsony:
Badacsony is the highest mountain in the Tapolca Basin. Beach, harbor, wine and gastronomy, cellar visits, unique lookouts, many museums and sights await us here. By bike or scheduled boat is a super, rewarding one-day excursion program that we heartily recommend.
Szigliget:
Very cozy winding streets, super cute, romantic cottages await us. The castle and courtyard of Szigliget offer many interesting art and gastronomic programs.
Zalaszántó-Béke Stupa:
The building, built for world peace, was personally built in the 14th century. He was initiated by the Dalai Lama.
Balaton Uplands:
The Balaton Uplands stretch between Lake Balaton and the Bakony. Diverse surface shapes and sedimentary rock layers can be observed in this fabulous landscape. The proximity of Lake Balaton, its Mediterranean atmosphere, volcanic landscapes and delicious wines are among the most popular destinations in the country. Many castles, church and castle ruins ... There are many cozy settlements, wine cellars, forest tours or gastronomic curiosities.
Sümeg Castle:
The 13th century medieval Sümeg Castle is one of the most impressive buildings in the Balaton Uplands. The castle, which has a long history, stands at a height of 245 meters on a hill of the same name. Together with Szigliget Castle, Sümeg Castle is the most visited fortress on Lake Balaton. Visiting the castle with children is not only a must-see program, but also the annual equestrian games.
Kehidakustány / Ferenc Deák Mansion and Museum:
Ferenc Deák lived in a mansion in Kehida from the age of five in 1808.
Today, the Ferenc Deák Mansion, the former residence of the “sage of the homeland”, functions as a museum and event house.
Country House and Tradition Preserver Mariska Udvar:
It faithfully reflects the material, activity and costume memories of old peasant life.
While the Mariska courtyard serves as a venue for live programs, the Country House has a role to play in showcasing the past.
Kehida Thermal Spa and Adventure Bath:
With a 2400 m² water surface, Mediterranean interiors, 13 pools, a 94-meter giant slide, outdoor kamikaze slides, outdoor 34-36 degree hot water and spa pools, a whirlpool, a drift pool, a children's paddling pool, a pool bar and many other tempting experiences.
Among the Hungarian spas, the outstanding calcium-magnesium bicarbonate-rated medicinal water provides guests with real recreation. There is an outdoor pool with a spa water and a swimming pool, an indoor spa with a weight bath and a neck shower (with a lifting device for the disabled) and a 36-38-degree sitting pool for guests to relax. The spa pools are surrounded by peaceful, adults-only lounges, a quiet room and a drinking fountain.
Zalakaros:
One of the 5 best medicinal waters in Europe.
The thermal water of the spa, which is extremely rich in healing effects from a depth of 2,000 meters and is 74 degrees Celsius, is popular among all ages.
The sights could be listed as far as Tihany, but our website would never end. In person, and in the Restaurants and Attractions menu, we can offer you other interesting programs. We welcome you with love!
